After two years of being married to my husband, we’ve finally decided that maybe we want to expand the family. But no one ever told me that preparing for a child is where it all begins. Now, with so much more medical information, it’s not just “wow, i’m pregnant!” Nope. It’s more like: take folic acid for one or two months, get your blood tested for all sorts of things, make sure you’re up to date on vaccines, quit smoking and drinking, exercise, try to lose weight or gain weight depending on your BMI… and all that.

Also, it’s crazy just how telling a doctor that you’re “trying to get pregnant” changes the way they see you and treat you. Personally, I’ve noticed that when a baby comes into the equation, they are much more thorough and ask much more questions about my lifestyle.

Well. I guess we’ll have to see huh? Hopefully everything goes well?
